To improve professional confidence of social care practitioners in Managing Challenging Conversations & Conflict Training to assist in successfully employing professional curiosity in a social care context.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the training delegates will be able to:

• Describe common situations, triggers and behaviours that can lead to challenging conversations
• Identify issues faced with having challenging conversations
• Define conflict and how to identify it
• Identify and apply models and tools to develop conversation management skills (Models including Signs of Safety and others)
• Identify the stages of conflict and apply methods of dealing with it (CUDSA, DEAL and others)
• Plan for and engage confidently in challenging conversations and conflict situations
• Utilise the ELC model – (Experiential Learning Cycle) to reflect to further develop confidence and skills in conversation management and dealing with conflict whilst engaged in social care practice
